Tideborn Command

★★★★★ 4.5 Editor rating

Tideborn Command is for people who like to sit and think. You command a fleet across a campaign map, balancing fuel, morale, and where to strike next. It's not a twitchy game — most of your time is spent planning, and the payoff is watching a plan you set up three turns ago finally land.

The touch interface handles the complexity better than I expected. You drag units, tap to queue orders, and pinch to zoom the map. There's a lot of information on screen, but the UI keeps it readable even on a smaller phone.

It runs cool and light because there's not much animation to speak of, which makes it a great pick-up-and-put-down game. I played most of it in short bursts between other things and never felt lost coming back.
