Games built for five spare minutes

Games built for five spare minutes

Not every game respects the fact that you only have a few minutes. Some demand a fifteen-minute commitment before you can even do anything. These are not those games.

The gold standard for me is a card run or a quick race — something with a clear start and end that fits in a small window. Crown of Glass nails this because a full run is short and you can stop clean between fights.

Anything with harsh checkpoints is a bad fit for short play. If losing five minutes of progress because your bus arrived feels bad, the game isn't built for the format.

Look for autosave, quick loading, and forgiving pause behavior. A good short-session game lets you drop in, do a thing, and put the phone away without any regret.
